lunar new year - its the year of the dog

to all you chinks (and various others celebrating the lunar new year) HAPPY NEW YEAR. so this year is the year of the dog. im currently sitting at home for a minute, being my mom's kitchen bitch and waiting for my family to arrive here from queens. its the first new year my aunt will be without my uncle. I heard some superstition once that was kind of weird, but made a lot of sense to me. she lost her husband, and my cousin just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. another italian chinese mix to add to our family. when i was born, my grandmother had jsut passed away. so in a sense, though she lost one, she will gain another. its kind of a life's joke. it makes me think about reincarnation. okay. i'll shut up. so since i have another new year's to fall back on, i think i 'll renew my resolutions with a new zeal.
